10/11/18 - Brisbane Blues and Rhythm Festival

This is the only date the Chix booked in November so we could work on the Musical Theatre project, and what a big day of blues it was!!  Sponsored by the fabulous Guitar Brothers in Paddington, the poster promised a Showcase of fine, contemporary Australian blues talent  and it really delivered. The selection of bands was unbeatable and a credit to Craig Claxton and the other organisers!, And as much as we had a ton of  fun onstage playing our set, it was equaled by great time we had watching some of the other acts!

The Chix were honored to be included in the line up with these exceptional Australian Blues musicians, which included
The Mojo Webb Band, The Hipshooters,  Big Kitty & The Scaredy Cats (who i enjoyed immensely) ,Tim Gaze & The Rough Diamonds, Nigel McTrustrys Cigarbox Explosion, Mark Doherty's Big Three, and The Atomic Boogie Band- reformed with a Tribute to the late great Mick Hadley
(with special guests Bridget O'Donoghue, Karen Anderson, Tim Gaze & Mark Doherty).

It really was an awesome lineup  incorporating every style of blues possible. I only wish i could have stayed to the end but we had an early theatre call the very next day and had to do the sensible thing and get some rest.

This was my first outing with my new "Soul Food " pedal modded by JTS, I had only purchase it the day before and with not much time to play around with it it was a walk on the wild side, but i can see i'm gonna love it! Thanks for recommending it to me Dave at Mooloolaba Music. x
