With an unmistakable passion for the genre, The Chix pour every ounce of emotion into each performance, breathing new life into some of the greatest Blues classics ever written. Their original tunes sit comfortably alongside the legends, making every set a crowd-pleasing, foot-stomping celebration of the Blues.

Short History
Formed in Brisbane’s West End in 1997 after a successful season as the house band for Vulcana Women’s Circus, ‘The Chix’ found their true calling when they met legendary Florida bluesman Wiley Reed.
The Three formative years spent performing with Wiley’s band cemented their love affair with the blues and shaped the sound they’re known for today.
The Musicians
At the heart of the band is the smoky, powerhouse voice of Vix (Vic Nightsinger) — hailed by The Courier Mail as “an accomplished blues aficionado with a huge presence and a voice to match.”
She’s joined by bassist Aleathea Monsour, whose sweet and melodic harmonies blend seamlessly with Vix’s smoky vocals to create a rich, soulful soundscape that could melt the hardest of hearts.
Joining Aleathea in setting the rhythmic grooves & filling out the vocal harmonies is Nicole Perry, a seasoned musician, whose driving style lays down the solid foundation ‘The Chix’ thrive on.
In 2021, the band welcomed harmonica ace Mana Eshragh Tabari, adding another fiery layer to their sound.
The band released their first CD in 2000 to wide acclaim, picking up 4 BASEQ Blues Excellence awards, including Band of the year , Album of the year, Song of the year & Best Female Vocalist.
The girls are currently hard at work writing and arranging a new album, and hope to have it completed by early/mid 2026.
